Team First Aid Kit
The following is a list of the recommended contents of the first aid kit
required to be carried during the race by your team for a two day event:
First aid kit to be carried with team at all times
10 antiseptic wipes
1 roll micropore tape 2.5cm
2 pairs disposable gloves
1 small ambulance dressing
2 triangular bandages
2 x No. 8 lint dressings
2 x 10cm non-adherent dressings
1 x 5cm crepe bandage
1 strip adhesive dressing - large
20 waterproof assorted plasters
1 Box of waterproof matches
Anti-Inflamatory medication ie Neurofen.
Caffine tablets (optional)
Duct Tape (optional)
Note: Any element of the first aid kit that is out of date will not be permitted.
Clothes
Each competitor must have a waterproof top with a hood and waterproof leggings and at least one additional spare fleecy top.
We also highly recommend a warm waterproof hat, like the Lowe Apline Mountain hat.
Otherwise it is entirely up to you what other gear you bring with you. Remember, the mountains can be harsh and you need to think through what type of clothing you will race in. It is highly likely to rain on you and at this time of the year it can get very cold in the mountains.
Food
You also must have sufficient food and water to last you on any section of the course with at lease one spare bar of chocolate or power bar.
You will need at least 3 bags of food each lasting for 8 hours.
You must carry water at all times
Transitions
1 large box or bag per team.
If you have 2 smaller kit boxes you can use these instead.
Change of clothes per competitor
You may put spare food, spare clothes, booties, cags or anything else you think your team might need during the race. All kit must fit into 1 bag / box You may have a seperate paddle bag if you are supplying your own paddles.
Camping after the Event
We are finishing the race in a different location to where we start.
Part of the fun of the event is going to be camping in the Castle after the race is over. We ask you all to bring a tent and some sleeping bags to sleep in. You will be leaving these with us at the race briefing and we will bring them to the finish for you. We can also transport a change of clothes for the party, toiletries and any thing else you might need. There will be showers for the Beasties and we will take you back to your cars and bikes on Bank holiday monday.
If you need to return to your cars on Sunday after the race, let us know in advance and this can be arranged.
